*I use the word Shamanism as it has become a colloquial term to describe visionary practices for personal and collective healing found in cultures throughout the globe. Shaman, the word, is based on the root sar, which means knowing, or understanding, in the Manchu-Tungus linguistic family (Siberia).

I teach a framework anchored in the cosmology of a world that is intelligent, alive, animate, and with agency. Multiple interactions, emergences, becomings and inter-beings are always at play. Shamanism, within my own lineage(s), returns us to our ancient practices of conversation, reciprocity, and visioning with the wider animate world. Additionally, I use the word Female to honor the legacy of the Bean Feasa, the Gaelic Wise Woman, the woman who walks between the worlds. I offer great respect to the Sidhe, the beings of the Otherworld, for whom the Bean Feasa is a mediator.
